About the house
Mamre House was remodeled top to bottom: new finishes throughout, a full shared kitchen, two living areas, one with a big TV, and laundry in the house. Entry is by keyless smart lock, security cameras cover all four corners of the house, there's off-street parking, and the backyard is private and quiet, with an outdoor grill and tools for everyone to use. Two full-size refrigerators mean nobody fights for shelf space.
The house is named for the oaks of Mamre, where Abraham welcomed travelers into his tent. That's the idea here too: a clean, settled place to land when you come to Huntsville for work or school.
Mamre House is an all-male household. Current housemates are engineers and tradesmen who keep regular hours, plus one who travels during the week. Everyone keeps to themselves and pulls their weight on the shared spaces. It is not a party house.

Questions
Which rooms are available right now?
Every room listed on this page is open now or opening soon, with its date shown. Rooms that are rented for the next few months aren't listed.
What does a room cost?
Unfurnished rooms start at $825 a month. Furnished rooms are $890 to $910, and the suite with a private bathroom is $950. Every price includes all utilities.
Will you furnish an unfurnished room?
Yes. Any unfurnished room can be furnished: $890 a month for most rooms, $910 for the large room with the walk-in closet, utilities still included. Turn on "Furnish this room" in the room's request form to see the price.
What comes with a furnished room?
A queen or full bed made up with bedding, fresh sheets, pillows and shams; a nightstand, desk and chair, lamps, blackout curtains, a mirror, wall hangings, extra blankets, a space heater, and bath, hand and face towels.
Can I bring my own furniture?
Yes. Choose an unfurnished room and furnish it however you like. Unfurnished rooms come with blackout curtains and a lock on the door.
Do I need to bring kitchen stuff?
No. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, bowls, glasses, mugs, pots, pans, silverware, and cooking tools like spatulas, knives and cutting boards. Just bring your food.
Are utilities really included?

From 30 days up to 12 months. Longer leases come with a lower monthly rate, and a lease that ends rolls to month-to-month.
What if I need to leave early?
There's a written buyout: three months' rent and you're free of the lease. If you're unsure how long you'll stay, start with a shorter term.
How do I pay rent?
